Men's Hockey welcomes all and every player regardless of ability! We have five teams competing in the local and BUCS leagues we can definitely find a place to accommodate you! We currently have training sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays depending on your team. Interested? Welcome to the site of Southampton University Men's Hockey Club, (SUMHC) the mighty 'Wessex Rangers'. We have 4 teams playing in BUCS university leagues on Wednesdays and 5 teams playing in England Hockey leagues on Saturdays. All abilities are welcome!

Membership Information
These are the current membership fees offered by Hockey (Mens), although many clubs and societies offer a free period for new members to try out their activities.
You must be a member of the Students' Union to join a club or society

| Year Membership for 5XI for 2026/27 | £60.00 | 31/08/2026 - 31/07/2027 | This membership is for players in the 5XI, or Development Team, to help cover the costs associated with playing hockey in the England Hockey South Central Division 1 Solent league. The largest expenditures of SUMHC for the 5XI players are fuel for personal cars to travel to and from oppositions' pitches, the hourly rate of our assistant coach who runs the Thursday training sessions, and then for our internal members to umpire home games for the 5XI every other Saturday. In addition, membership through the SUSU website allows you to fall under SUSU's insurance policy, so if you get hit by a ball or stick and need immediate medical treatment at a cost, you will be insured for that expense. | |
