Indian Society
We are a growing society here in Southampton that caters for students of Indian background and we also welcome students of non-Indian background to our family as we look to grow larger each year. We run our society for several reasons, one of the main reasons is to cater for our students who grew up here in the UK, or elsewhere, and showcase our rich tradition and culture through our annual events that they have never experienced before. We look to provide them with a platform to make friends and life-long memories whilst integrating into the Southampton student life and incorporating them into our Indian Society Family. We plan and organise events throughout the year ranging from club nights, chill nights, movie and games nights, charity events and flagship events like our well-known APNA Awards night, collaborating with many of the other university's societies. We look forward to having you join our Indian Society Family and hope you have a memorable academic year with us.

- APNA (A.K.A ASIAN PERSONALITY NOMINATION AWARDS) - A grand Oscars, IIFA, Grammys, Filmafare type award show with countless performances, hosts and hilarious awards! Enjoy photobooths, food and drinks, presidential roasts and alot more!!
- HOLI and DIWALI
- Chill nights that will include game nights, movie nights and more!
- Monthly talks on taboo topics circulating the wide Indian Community
- Weekly Bollywood Dance sessions open to beginners and professionals (with plenty of performance opportunities at Diya Ball and APNA)
- Weekly Badminton or Cricket Sessions for Boys and Girls!
- Raise a lot of money for Charity
- Have lots of fun
Here is what our Presidents Anika and Adi have to say to new students:
"We are a community here. We really are your home away from home. Our best advice to freshers who are in two minds of joining is to just do it!! You've got nothing to loose, and chances are you'll meet some lifelong friends and create some incredible memories.
