Soton Medical Technology Society

The Southampton MedTech Society is a newly formed community driven by medical and technology students. Our core aim is to create a collaborative space where these two disciplines can join, helping educate both sides and share knowledge. Our members have diverse interests spanning from cutting-edge neurotechnology to chronic disease management. We plan to host a variety of events, including hands-on workshops to develop practical skills, italks from industry professionals and academics, and longer-term projects that will provide valuable experience in the MedTech sector. We feel HealthTech is ever growing and want to equip our members with the knowledge, abilities, and understanding of the industry so members can be prepared as possible for the future. Another reason for this society is so we can compete with other university MedTech societies which have their school's backing. This will help us in entering competitions and attending events as a group. Our society caters to a range of aspirations, from those interested in MedTech consulting and entrepreneurial start-ups to students simply seeking to learn more about the industry. We aim to fill a gap within the University by providing a dedicated community and the necessary support for students interested in medical technology. With the university's backing, we believe we can successfully achieve this.
