Students across Europe have been organising against poor educational and working conditions, as the affordability crisis grips the continent and squeezes the future generation from Germany to France. On 20th November, Socialist Students, the Young Greens and other organisations are mobilising against war and rearmament, climate breakdown and the cost of living.

On Avenue Campus, the Socialist Students Society, Green Society, Communist Society and Palestine Solidarity Society are meeting together to discuss plans for how students can get involved in these political issues, and how we can amplify our voices calling for a dignified future for young people. A liveable planet with secure housing, free from endless wars and racist scapegoating, is something we all deserve, and which we can all fight for!

The Organisers

At the Socialist Students Society, we are a big tent of socialists at the university helping to organise for funding higher education, tenants’ rights for students, and promoting a world beyond capitalism. Together with other groups in Southampton and beyond, we are committed to empowering young people to make a difference in politics. We come from all backgrounds, united in solidarity. Politics isn’t just something which happens to us. Instead, we should make politics happen!
