African and Caribbean Society

We are a student run organisation focused on providing our members with opportunities that will develop them into culturally proud and aware, well rounded individuals who feel valued during their time in higher education. Our aim is to unite students from various backgrounds through the celebration of African and Caribbean culture while encouraging them to excel in their academic and career pursuits.

  • The Treasurer shall oversee the financing of the Group, set the Group's budget, and maintain the accounts of the Group.
Zola Adonsi
Vice President
  • The Vice President shall assist the President in overseeing how the society is run by assisting and managing club operations of different officers. They should support in the organisation and management of different committee members’ tasks to effectively contribute to the club’s operations.
Amanda Adegoke
Welfare Officer
  • The Welfare Officer shall provide welfare pursuits for the Group’s Members, and offer academic advice in conjunction with the course representatives of the Students’ Union.
Azaria Cole
Events Officer
Lara De Sousa Ribas
Media Officer
  • The Media Officer shall assist the Publicity Officer through the creation of promotion material such as posters, logos and promos.
Adaora Onowu
Secretary
  • The Secretary shall oversee the administration of the Group, take minutes at General Meetings and Meetings of the Committee, and maintain the register.
Habeeb Liadi
Sports Officer
  • The Sports Secretary shall provide athletic pursuits for the Group’s Members, including the organisation of the intra-mural sports teams and their training.

Membership Information

These are the current membership fees offered by African and Caribbean Society , although many clubs and societies offer a free period for new members to try out their activities.
