Quiz Society
We are the Quiz Society – a society for quiz goers and quiz makers. Meeting on Friday evenings we run a regular schedule of In-House quizzes throughout the year containing unique rounds like Play/Pass, Connections, Reel-to-Reel-to-Reel, and What They Don’t Know. We can also help you write and run your own quizzes at any point in the year. It’s a great way to meet new people from a variety of different years and subjects. All are welcome no matter what your status at the university; we’re keen to see undergrads or postgrads join us. As a society we find a variety of local pub quizzes to go to. We also send teams to external quiz tournaments to compete against other universities, alongside running our own tournaments for other universities and other Southampton societies. President
Treasurer
Welfare Officer
- The Welfare Officer shall provide welfare pursuits for the Group’s Members, and offer advice in conjunction with representatives of the Students’ Union.
Chief Quiz-Master for Humanities
- The CQM for Humanities shall work with the VP (In-House) and oversee the formation and regulation of questions that fall under the following categories: History, Geography, Religion/Philosophy, Business, Politics and Language.
Chief Quiz-Master for Science
- The CQM for Science shall work with the VP (In-House) and oversee the formation and regulation of questions that fall under the following categories: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Technology and Mathematics.
Chief Quiz-Master for The Arts
- The CQM for The Arts shall work with the VP (In-House) and oversee the formation and regulation of questions that fall under the following categories: Film/TV, Literature, Music, Art, Games and Sport.
Publicity Officer
- The Publicity Officer shall communicate the Group’s activities to the members of the group and the Students’ Union. They shall also lead on the organisation of the Group’s Democratic processes.

Vice President In-House
- The VP (In-House) shall oversee the formation and organisation of all the quizzes that are run directly through the Group within the University
Vice President Out-of-House
- The VP (Out-Of-House) shall oversee the participation of the Group’s members in externally run quizzes such as local pub quizzes and tournaments at other Universities.
Membership Information
These are the current membership fees offered by Quiz Society, although many clubs and societies offer a free period for new members to try out their activities.
