Membership Information
These are the current membership fees offered by Caving, although many clubs and societies offer a free period for new members to try out their activities.
You must be a member of the Students' Union to join a club or society

This goes towards British Caving Association (BCA) membership which includes liability insurance and is a requirement for us to take you into any caves. As a member you get to come on trips, access to caving kit, and caving information resources. The rest of the money is used to fund our kit costs/maintenance with the remainder going towards social and welfare events | |
| Term 1 Caving Membership 2026 | £27.00 | 12/09/2026 - 11/12/2026 | A membership just for the autumn term . This goes towards British Caving Association (BCA) membership, which is a requirement for us to take you into any caves. As a member you get to come on trips, access caving kit, and caving information resources. The rest of the money is used to fund our kit costs and maintenance with the remainder going towards socials and welfare activities. This membership gives you the same access as the yearly membership just for the autumn term | |
| Yearlong Caving membership Excluding BCA Insurance 2026/27 | £35.00 | 12/09/2026 - 30/06/2027 | A year-long membership that doesn't include BCA membership. This is targeted at people who have caved before and want to borrow the club kit/attend club events but have obtained their BCA membership through other means, whether that be through another club or individually. | |
| Yearlong Social Membership 2026/27 | £5.00 | 14/09/2026 - 30/06/2027 | A year long social membership for £5. This social membership allows you to turn up to social and welfare events but it does not include BCA membership or allow you to hire/borrow club kit so with this membership you will not be allowed to come on any day/weekend trips but you can come along to all other non-caving events. The money from membership is used to cover social events you may attend |
