Clay Pigeon Shooting
The University of Southampton Clay Pigeon Shooting Club is a new and rapidly developing society that prides itself on being an active and welcoming club in Southampton, whether you’re an experienced shot or a novice, the society aims to make clay shooting as accessible and affordable as possible whilst maintaining a relaxed, friendly and safe atmosphere.
The University of Southampton Clay Pigeon Shooting Club is a new and rapidly developing society that prides itself on being an active and welcoming, open to everyone, regardless of whether you have shot before or not, with professional coaching provided on a regular basis.
The club aims to make clay shooting as accessible and affordable as possible whilst maintaining a relaxed, friendly and safe atmosphere. The society is inclusive and aims to widen participation in a sport that is often seen as traditional.
We offer multiple shooting opportunities at a number of respected grounds across Hampshire including Spitfire Shoot, Wallers Ash and Ower Shooting Ground, at least once a week. The society also competes in inter-university fixtures such as the Oxford Challenge, St Andrews Challenge, Bristol Competition, BUCS and Varsity.
Membership allows access to all the equipment, regular shooting opportunities, subsidised cartridges and tuition, and weekly social events throughout the year.

- Provides high level management of the club, assist with & delegate tasks to comittee members
Treasurer
- manages income/expenses. provides analysis/forecast to advice decisions. responsible for meeting minutes
Welfare Secretary
- responsible for wellbeing within the club, particularly during sanctioned events

- Manage shoot/event advertisement & sign-ups. Plans shooting calender

- Plans/executes socials, and non shooting daytrips

The membership also provides cartridges at a discounted rate. Beyond the shooting ground, the club also has an active social side, with regular socials and events that make it easy meet other students. Whether you’re aiming to compete seriously or simply keep your skills sharp, this membership connects you with a community of like-minded shooters and the chance to challenge yourself in a supportive environment. This membership is strictly for those who are competent in gun safety and handling and have had significant experience with clay shooting. Ideal for newcomers to the sport, this membership provides you with access to the fundamentals of clay shooting in a safe, supportive environment, with discounted prices to build your confidence within the sport.
